Alexander and The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day by Judith Viorst
This is one of my favorite books from chilhood, all though it may not have a cover, the bright orange color got my attention. It was not to long only 28 pages full of funny events. There are many characters from friends to familly in the book. Some of these are, Nick and Anthony his two brothers, his friends Philip, Albert, Paul, Becky, Audrey, and Elliott, his mom and dad, his teacher Mrs. Dickens, and his doctor, Dr. Feilds. This book didnt really have much of a setting, it just went through a normal day in a kids life that went wrong. To summarise the book, a boy goes through his normal rutien of the day, but everything seems to go wrong. He has bad luck and has to watch his friends get the things he wants and this makes him feel terrible. They are kids as characters, humor, and illustrations. There are two sentences that repeat through out the book to describe Alexander's day. My favorite sentence was, " It was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day." I feel this book is for kids who are younger, from the age of 5-8 and are in elementary school, becuase that is how old Alexander is. I loved this book growing up and feel many kids would because of it's humor.
